Drax is a 24″ Schmidt Camera. Housed in the Rob Bridgeland Dome at the Spaceguard Centre.

Originally build by Grubb Parsons for Cambridge University in mid 1950’s, Drax was donated to Spaceguard UK in 2009. Since then we at MAG have been constructing the dome to house it and refurbishing the telescope itself.

Drax is the largest Optical Telescope in Wales and the 15th largest in the UK.
